Duties of Colorado Registered Agents

A registered agent acts as your main point of contact with the Colorado secretary of state. They receive legal and government correspondence addressed to your organization and forward it to you. If they do so efficiently, you should have enough time to take the necessary action.

Colorado Registered Agent Requirements

According to Section 7-90-701 of the Colorado Statutes, a registered agent can be any of the following:

1. An individual who is at least 18 years old and has a place of business or primary residence in Colorado
2. Another domestic organization

4. Your own organization (as long as you maintain a business address in the state)
