Alaska Certified Public Accountant Firm Permit

Eligible Entity Types:
  • Sole Proprietorship
  • Corporation
  • Partnership
  • Limited Liability Company
Foreign Qualification is Prerequisite:No
Ownership Requirements:
  • More than 50% of the firm is owned by CPAs licensed in Alaska or another state in good standing
  • Each owner who is personally engaged in Alaska in the practice of public accounting as a member of the firm and whose principal place of business is in Alaska is an Alaska-licensed CPA in good standing
Registered Agent (Special Agency) Required?No
Qualifying Individual Requirements:

Each office established or maintained in this state for the practice of public accounting shall be under the direct supervision of an individual who is an Alaska-licensed CPA. The supervisor may be a sole proprietor, partner, principal, member, or staff employee. A supervisor may serve in this capacity for each office in the state that is maintained by a firm.
