Maine Manufactured Housing Dealer License

Products/completed operations liability insurance for at least $1,000,000 and, where required, proof of workers' compensation insurance.

  • A certificate of good standing from the Secretary of State
  • If the applicant is a foreign entity, documentation of registration with the Maine Secretary of State Corporation Division
  • If the applicant is an out-of-state entity, a duly-executed power of attorney appointing the Executive Director as its agent for service of process in this State
  • Proof of products/completed operations liability insurance for at least $1,000,000.00 and, where required, proof of workers' compensation insurance. Liability policy and workers' compensation insurance must include mandatory notice of cancellation to the Manufactured Housing Board
  • Evidence of completion of Qualifying (initial) Education Training Program
  • If the applicant is an individual, payment of the $21 criminal background check fee

A late fee of $50 is assessed for licenses renewed after the June 30 license expiration date.

Maine Manufactured Housing Developer Dealer License

Products/completed operations liability insurance for at least $300,000 and, where required, proof of workers' compensation insurance.

Notes:

"Developer Dealer" means a person who purchases state-certified manufactured housing from a licensed manufacturer or dealer for placement on property owned by the developer dealer and who offers the manufactured housing for sale to the initial purchaser of the manufactured housing. The developer dealer may not install such manufactured housing but may contract with the manufacturer or dealer for the installation of such manufactured housing.

  • If the applicant will be manufacturing state certified modular homes, the manufacturer's authorized inspection agency's compliance assurance documents in accordance with the requirements of Subpart D of the Rules for the State Certification of Manufactured Housing
  • For initial licensure as a manufacturer, the applicant shall submit their installation manual to be maintained on file at the Office
  • If the applicant is an individual, payment of the criminal background check fee
