Newfoundland & Labrador Permit to Practice

Professional Liability Insurance in amounts not less than $250,000 per claim and $500,000 aggregate.

Qualifying Individual Requirements:

A member in responsible charge is required for each profession listed on the permit to practice who is registered and in good standing with PEGNL. An engineering permit to practice must have a P. Eng. or Eng. L. member in responsible charge and a geoscience permit to practice must have a P. Geo. or Geo. L. member in responsible charge.

  • $211.47 USD application fee + $31.72 USD HST
    • ($300 CAD application fee + $45 CAD HST)
  • Annual dues are invoiced after the approval of the application and are based on the number of license holders listed on a permit to practice + 15% HST. Annual fees are prorated by 50% for applications submitted after June 30. 
    • 1 License Holder: $454.65 USD ($645 CAD)
    • 2-5 License Holders: $608.32 USD ($863 CAD)
    • 6-9 License Holders: $769.73 USD ($1092 CAD)
    • 10+ License Holders: $927.63 USD ($1316 CAD)
Required Attachments:
  • Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
  • Designate Authorization Proof, if applicable
  • List of license holders currently registered or who will be working on projects

  • Annual dues are based on the number of license holders listed on a permit to practice + 15% HST.
    • 1 License Holder: $454.65 USD ($645 CAD)
    • 2-5 License Holders: $608.32 USD ($863 CAD)
    • 6-9 License Holders: $769.73 USD ($1092 CAD)
    • 10+ License Holders: $927.63 USD ($1316 CAD)
