Nova Scotia Certificate of Compliance - Corporate Company

Agency:The Association of Professional Engineers of Nova Scotia
Eligible Entity Types:
  • Corporations: must employ engineers providing services in Nova Scotia and each engineer must be registered with the Association
Foreign Qualification is Prerequisite:Yes
Notes:

No partnership, corporation or other entity may be incorporated or registered in Nova Scotia under a name that includes the word “engineering” or any variation, unless it holds and continues a hold a valid Certificate of Compliance issued by Engineers Nova Scotia. The Nova Scotia Registry of Joint Stock Companies requires a letter from Engineers Nova Scotia confirming its registration of any company whose name implies the engineering profession, before the approval of that company name. 

Qualifying Individual Requirements:

The application of engineering must be done under the supervision of a member or a full-time permanent employee thereof, who in either case is a member of the Association or is licensed to practise.

Nova Scotia Certificate of Compliance - Sole Practitioner

  • Sole Practitioners
Ownership Requirements:

Sole Practioners

  • Owned or operated by a registered member of Engineers of Nova Scotia and provides engineer services to the public of Nova Scotia. No other engineers are employed in this type of entity.
