Company Licenses

Montana Nonprofit & Fundraising Company Licenses

Montana Bingo, Raffle, Keno, and Poker Licenses

Game Type:

Bingo, raffles, keno, and poker.

Age Restrictions:

With the exception of raffles, participants must be at least 18 years old.

Prize Limits:

The maximum bingo and keno prize for a single game is $100.

Notes:

Casino nights may no last more than 12 consecutive hours. Within 30 days after the casino night, charities must submit a report to the division.

Casino night permits apply to a single event, so there is no renewal.

Montana Charitable Gift Annuity Registration

Organization Age Requirement:

3 years of continuous existence immediately preceeding licensure.

Minimum Unrestricted Cash or Cash Equivalent Requirement:

Notification of Issuance of Qualified Charitable Gift Annuities

Notes:

Montana charities must provide notice before entering into a charitable gift annuity agreement. Notices must identify the organization, certify that the organization is a charity and that the annuities issued are qualified charitable gift annuities, and be signed by an officer or director. Charities must also maintain a separate annuity fund that covers at least half of the value of the initial amount transferred for outstanding annuities.

Professional Solicitor licensure is not required on the State level in Montana.

Solicitors who are not employed by a professional fundraising firm but operate independently may be required to register. Employees of professional fundraising firms are generally not required to register as an individual solicitor in Montana.
